About Me

Ms Georgia graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University with a BA (Hons) in Education with Qualified Teacher Status. She has since taught children across Early Years and Primary in the UK, Bahrain, Spain and Thailand.

After working at the prestigious, St. Christopher’s School in Bahrain, Ms Georgia relocated to Spain where she taught in K2 for five years. Her previous positions have provided her with valuable experience in teaching the Early Years Curriculum in an international setting. Teaching children for whom English as an additional language (EAL) has been a key part of this experience and Ms Georgia has brought this wealth of experience to The First Steps.

“Growing up in Bahrain and being immersed in such a multi-cultural society provided me with invaluable opportunities and experiences, which have all contributed to where I am today.

After graduating from Leeds Metropolitan University I worked in an inner-city school teaching Primary. I learnt a huge amount during this time and this truly cemented my love of teaching. I moved back to Bahrain for a time and had the opportunity to work in a range of schools there (including my own childhood school), widening my experience and giving me a ´taste´ of working in International schools.

Fast forward to more recent times and I taught K2 at a British School in Madrid for 5 years. I am grateful for my time there, cementing my EYFS knowledge and learning a new language!

I strive to provide an enriching, comfortable environment, where children feel safe and confident. I am an avid supporter of play-based and child-centred learning, providing individualised opportunities to develop intellectual curiosity and learning through problem solving and collaboration. Thus, translating to lots of exploring, socialising, creativity and FUN!

My other passion, outside of teaching, is travelling. Travelling has provided me with invaluable first-hand experience of the world and the different cultures within it, all of which I enjoy integrating into my teaching.

I love nature and the outdoors and I am excited about the variety Thailand has to offer. I am also a keen diver and I am looking forward to the opportunity to continue this hobby. At home I enjoy cooking and baking but I also can’t wait to sample all the local delicacies!
