I grew up in the small German town Bielefeld. My Mum was also Kindergarten/Pre-School teacher and my Dad was a Social Worker. They gave me the inspiration to support and help other individuals and I have gained a lot of experience over the years working with children and special needs individuals in different settings.
I am a state-approved Social Care Worker (Heilerziehungspfleger) and in Düsseldorf and Bielefeld I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Social Education (Soziale Arbeit). These two occupations gave me the chance to work with many different individuals in a professional context for over ten years.
Since 2015 I have been working with The First Steps International Pre-School. It has been a great experience to teach children German in an English-speaking school.
I see each child as an individual with their own strengths and weakness, which I can help to support. In our German class we have different ages of children with very different German skills. Together with Nina, our German Teaching Assistant, it is very nice to see that our German-speaking children come closer and closer together like a small German community within The First Steps.
We focus on developing the speaking skills of our children and it is always a privilege to see how the vocabulary of the students grows over the years. To reach this goal we need to work closely together with the parents, to give the children the best options to learn this complex language. Please feel free to contact me as I am always very happy to support your child to become more and more fluent in German.
