The First Steps International Pre-school provides the children of ages 16 to 24 months care and learning under the supervision of a qualified teacher in a full and part-time program from Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 1:30pm.
Most of the children in this age group will have their Second birthday during the academic year which starts in August or early September through to June. Part-time options for this age group are available for a minimum of three times a week.
During the school year the teacher makes the lesson plans for the children according to the EYFS (Early Year Foundation Stage) from the national strategies of the British curriculum.
We follow the lesson plans keeping the 7 areas of development in mind:
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
Communication and Language
Knowledge and Understanding of the world
In these areas of development the children are allowed to explore with in a wide range of activities like painting, printing, collage and modelling. Our teachers plan the lessons in such a way that the little ones just adapt the skills through their exploring time during the hours at school. Numbers, colours, shapes are introduced through songs, art work or through the reading time with big pictorial books/ puppets.
These activities help the children in their cognitive, social, and emotional development and also enhance their fine and gross motor skills.
Each day fresh and healthy snack and lunch is served to the children. This is a very sensitive age group so our qualified and highly experienced teachers take care of this group.
